The AI for Business Newsletter Manifesto

What this newsletter is about and how you might gain from it.

There is no shortage of blogs and tutorials about the impact of AI, especially Generative AI, and how it’s going to change tech and society.

This newsletter talks to entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs about what they can do today with GenAI - what works, how to deploy it at a small to mid-sized company, how to reap the benefits.

It seeks to answer questions such as:

  • In what situations does it make sense to introduce GenAI-powered chatbots as the initial point of customer service interaction?

  • Should companies prioritize customer-facing use cases or internal process automation?

  • How can companies incorporate AI capabilities into processes that are already structured by dozens of legacy systems?

  • What’s the business case for AI, given the significant cost of inference, especially for reasoning models?

  • Should business leaders reconsider the role of the manager so that they can use AI tools to do things themselves that they would normally delegate to their team?

  • How to deal with the headaches of constantly changing AI integration interfaces and the potential limited lifespan of new AI software-as-a-service start-ups?

  • What is the place of “Shadow IT” in a small to mid-size organization?

We’ll review major ecosystem news and discuss their impact on the questions mentioned above.

The newsletter will be as technical as needed, but from the practitioners’ standpoint. We won’t shy away from publishing code snippets, because that’s the only way to get real projects going. Every business leader must become a “vibe developer” - making the most out of coding environments like Cursor and Replit to prototype their customized applications. One learning from the DOGE initiative in the U.S. is that leaders must instill a high level of intensity, sometimes by getting their hands dirty and getting into the systems if the organization won’t do it for them.

However, the newsletter won’t require knowledge of machine learning or how foundational GenAI models work under the hood.

Despite the AI theme, you can count on the newsletter to be human-generated! It’s based on real-life trials and errors and heart-to-heart conversations with other business leaders.

Stay tuned!
